Unfortunately many job seekers get caught up in all of the excitement when it is time to make a resume before they really think about what is involved in the process. However, once they see the number of professional resume writers and software providers marketing towards job seekers, they get overwhelmed and give up on the process of making a resume.

Although these marketers may make it seem as though you cannot make a resume without them, this is not true you actually can make a resume on your own. Furthermore the resume you create on your own can really stand out and get you notices by potential employers.

You can use your word processor to make a resume. Anyone with a computer loaded with basic word processing software can make a resume that will really stand out. Microsoft Word is considered to be one of the well known and popular word processing software programs available but other programs work just as well. These other programs often cost a great deal less but work just as well. The only difference is some of the less expensive software packages may not have built in templates to make it easy to make a resume.

As long as these job seekers have Internet access, there is hope for them. With access to the Internet, these job seekers can access websites where they can download free word processing programs such as the one available from openoffice.org Not only will this, free to download program, help you with all of your word processing needs but it can also assist you in designing and writing a resume that will attract attention from potential employers.

With many of these free word processing programs, they will help you to meet your needs as soon as you download them. There are even some programs that allow you to suggest changes to the software.
